C2C with Mandala

I don't know what I am more obsessed with C2C or variegated yarn. I love both so much! I actually love all yarn but the variegated and cake styles have most of my attention these days.
I looked at the Mandala yarn for a long time without buying it. I would eww and ahh over all of the pretty color combos but always leave the store empty handed. My husband was always saying "Really, you are going to look at it for that long and not buy it?" LOL! Yep!
I finally broke down and bought some one day while my daughter and I were shopping. I got 2 rolls of the Serpent & 2 of the Unicorn. They sat in my yarn stash for months with me contemplating what to do with them. I normally use Worsted weight #4 yarn for everything and was a little intimidated by the thinness of this yarn. I have made so many things with #4 yarn that I know exactly what it works up like and will look like. I knew this yarn was not going to work up like that and I just didn't have the time to rework my patterns to accommodate thin yarn..
I know that sounds crazy, Right??
Then a friend called and said she needs some gifts for a baby shower. I immediately thought about the Mandala yarn I had and C2C. I knew the thinness of the yarn would not matter with Corner to Corner and it would make a nice light weight baby blanket.

Here is what it looks like so far...

I love the way these colors work up and change. It is soft and make a nice weight blanket to use for on the go or for pictures.

I am making it in a 24"x30" size and plan to make a matching hat. So far I have used all of one roll and a little less than half of the other. I estimate that it will take pretty much all of the second one to. 

I am thinking of trying the Cold Shoulder Swimsuit Cover up next.
